Goals your future self will thank you for

A word about goals and priorities as we enter spring, a time of renewal and new goal-setting...

In one area of my ATTEND framework for managing our attention optimally, I advocate for clarity and reinforcement of our targets🎯

However, this week I shifted my attention from my planned business and personal goals for the week to something else...and I don't regret it! 😍

My almost 86-year-old father in Plymouth, UK, has written a wonderful book about bridges over the local river Tamar, based around his paintings and historical research. This week, I decided to shift my business time to help him (remotely, I live in Stockholm). I edited and formatted his manuscript, resulting in a smart contemporary layout, while still keeping it very much his "voice".

As a single parent, I don't have a lot of time to allocate to things not on my current list of priorities. However, it feels incredibly valuable to have been able to do this for him. He is thrilled and says the book is "his legacy". I will always remember us working together on this. 🤗

👉 Even through a lens of productivity, we can choose to adapt our work priorities for the week, keeping in mind the longer-term holistic picture of our lives❤️

🗝 The key is to be INTENTIONAL about your choice to shift your attention.

🎯 Keep your immediate targets agile, but remain undistracted from your long-term goals.

When deciding your priorities for this spring and the week ahead, remember to do something that your future self will thank you for.🙌
